About Groundwork Devon & Cornwall

Since 1991 Plymouth Area Groundwork Trust began working across the Plymouth 'travel to work area', which included South East Cornwall and South Devon. The Trust (now known as Groundwork Devon & Cornwall) has recently expanded to work the two counties.

Through strengthening and expanding our geographical presence we are seeking to extend the opportunities to participate in Groundwork projects, particularly for those communities already recognised as experiencing economic deprivation and social disadvantage.

The Trust Management Team and Plymouth Operations Team are based at The Millfields in Plymouth. The Torbay Operations team is based in Torquay and the Cornwall Operations team are split between offices in St Blazey and St Austell.

We have been continuously recognised as an Investor In People since 1996 and became accredited to BS8555 in 2007, demonstrating our commitment to both our staff and the environment. Copies of our Environmental Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy are available on request. We also use the Business Excellence Through Action (BETA Plus) model to measure and improve the quality of our organisation and activities.

Last year Groundwork Devon & Cornwall:

• planted 1,082 trees.
• improved 82,199 square metres of land
• maintained 2,016,398 square metres of land.
• in terms of people actively involved in projects, achieved 4,942 young person days
  and 5,610 adult person days.
• involved 74 schools and supported 236 business.
• helped businesses divert 11,074 tonnes of waste from landfill.
• provided 545 training weeks.
• progressed 78 projects.
